Mental health illnesses have a vast range of characteristics including those that are common and those that often go unnoticed. Many mental health illnesses first appear as students transition and adjust to college life. Without early detection the effects may compile, adding to typical stressors in young adult development. Cormorbidity is a possible result of poor adaption to college and unseen symptoms in childhood. This may lead to confusion, academic impediment, drop out, or even worse, negative coping mechanisms. The duration of this research is geared toward special student populations, and details the approaches used to accommodate this population across the board.
